This is a new thing we’re going to try for a while! We’re finding more and more relevant links about disability, education and employment in the news from both home and abroad. Rather than clog up your news feed on facebook we’re going to collect the links and post them here on a Friday. We’ll post one/two of our favourites to Facebook and Twitter then every day. Check out the above link to an exhibit in the states which gave kids the opportunity to explore what it was like to have a disability. Great way to kick off a conversation about disabilities and inclusion with kids who may sometimes fear or be nervous around the kid who’s a little bit different.

Topics to be covered will include: career decision making, job-seeking and interview skills, CV preparation, personal management, recruitment and selection processes. There will also be training and discussion on the issue of disclosure. Job preparation skills will be imparted in a hands-on approach, including lively interactive workshops, mock interviews given by HR staff from different companies and seminars by professional recruitment specialists.
